1-What is the first horror movie you remember seeing?
I think it was GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE. It was playing on TV on some Fright Night program. I was very little and remember catching a glimpse of it. One look freaked me out
2-What would you consider the best three moments in horror history?
The opening murders of SUSPIRIA, any moment in the EXORCIST, and CARRIE’s prom. As you can see, the 70s is where I’m at.
3-As an actor, what is the aspect that you are looking specifically when you do a film?
To play a multi-layered character, no matter what the part entails. These parts don’t come along too often.
4-What was the most horrific experience on set?
Working with Andreas Schnaas on NIKOS THE IMPALER. All of it.
5-What is the performance you are the most satisfied with?
The part I played in RED SCARE ON SUNSET (that of Frank Taggart) which I did many years ago. Very pleasant experience and a fun role. It was a Charles Busch play and I think I enjoyed it most because I was able to relax and enjoy being the part without second guessing or being concerned with a million other things on set.
6-What is the film of yours that your fans talk about all the time?
Either BARRICADE or NIKOS THE IMPALER. Seems to be brought up the most. Gotta love the Germans Oh – and my brief appearance in WOLF OF WALL STREET. That little part seems to be noticed by any and every one I know
7-Have you ever thought of directing more films?
I have directed, but I think my real interests lie in acting and occasionally producing. I don’t have the real visual discipline or open-mindedness. I tend to approach filmmaking too much like a stage director.
8-What are some projects that you are working on right now?
I worked on two short films this year: MAUVESES TETE (BAD HEADS) and WRATH OF THE BLOOD ANGEL. Mainly, I’m working on my new cookbook, BREAKFAST IN BED WITH CAFÉ HIMBO. Writing cookbooks seems to be my main interest these days. Not trying to be Emeril though.
